Pierre Balmain is the founder of this fashion house. He opened his house in 1945 in Paris. He also launched perfume business in that year. According to Balmain the perfume is important than accessories. From the house of Balmain Vent Vert (1947), Jolie Madame (1953), Miss Balmain (1967), Ivoire (1979), and Balmya (2002) were the few creations. The notes used by Balmain are the following: Top notes are bergamot, galbanum, black pepper, blackcurrant; heart notes are jasmine, violet, rose, and orris; base notes are patchouli, oakmoss, sandalwood, vetiver. The Balmain passed away in 1982. The recent fragrances launched by the house are Recent releases include Eau d’Amazonie (2005), La Mome (2007), Ambre Gris (2008).
